Richmond beats Duquesne; will play VCU in A10 quarterfinals

BROOKLYN, NY (WWBT) -

The Richmond men's basketball team beat Duquesne Thursday night 76-64 in the second round of the Atlantic 10 tournament.

With the win the Spiders advance to the quarterfinals Friday where they will face cross-town rival, VCU at 6:30 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

VCU won both meetings this season against the Spiders.  Most recently the Rams beat Richmond 56-50 on March 6th at the Robins Center.

Richmond was led by Terry Allen's career-high 27 points.  Kendall Anthony contributed 23 points.

The Spiders led 32-26 at halftime and opened the second half on a 13-4 run.

Benedictine grad L.G. Gill scored 10 for Duquesne.
