4 face gang charges in VA police captain Kevin Quick's death investigation

GOOCHLAND, VA (WWBT) -

Four suspects tied to the death of Waynesboro Police reserve Captain Kevin Quick were in Goochland County court Monday morning.

Prosecutors decided not to pursue murder charges. Instead, Halisi Uhuru, Leslie Hope Casterlow Anthony Darnell Stokes, and Anthony White face gang charges in connection with the captain's death.

Prosecutors reserved the right to bring the charges back in the future, if they decided they were warranted.

Halisi Uhuru, Leslie Hope Casterlow and Anthony Darnell Stokes faced a charge of principal in the 2nd degree to the crime of murder in the death of Quick, according to arrest warrants filed in Goochland. According to legal analysts, that charge means they are accused of being connected to Quick's death but may not have killed him.

A fourth suspect, Anthony White, was arrested later and now faces a felony gang participation charge in the death of the captain.

Quick went missing January 31. Virginia State police found a body in a remote area along on the Fluvanna and Goochland county line, later identified as Quick. Law enforcement sources say the body had been shot.

The case has been continued to May 19.
