CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Chesterfield is launching a Yellow Dot Program for drivers in the county, hoping to save lives in the event of an emergency.

The process is very simple - all you have to do is pick up a kit from police, deputies, the courthouse, or fire department. You'll fill out a form with your emergency information that goes in your glove box.

A yellow dot sticker goes on your window, and in an emergency, indicates to first responders that the information is available.

You can pick up a packet at the following locations:

•  Police Support Services, 2730 Hicks Road, North Chesterfield, 804-318-8699

•  Sheriff's Office, 9500 Courthouse Road, Chesterfield, 717-6266

•  Fire and Life Safety Division, 9800 Government Center Parkway., 2nd floor, Chesterfield,
748-1426

•  The Office of the Senior Advocate, 9800 Government Center Parkway., 1st floor, Chesterfield,
804-768-7878.
