Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with the death of an Old Dominion University student with ties to the Richmond area.
Friends of the family told NBC12 the victim, identified as 20-year-old Paul Johnson, comes from a large, tight-knit military family. Johnson was a graduate of Varina High School in Henrico County, according to friends and Johnson's Facebook page.
Johnson was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.
Late Sunday evening, police obtained warrants for 21-year-old David Grimm and 20-year-old Christopher Johnson. Grimm is wanted for second-degree murder, while Johnson is wanted for assault. Norfolk Police told NBC12 the suspect identified as Christopher Johnson, and who shares the same last name as the victim, is not related to Paul Johnson.
Suspect photos weren't being released by police Sunday night.
