Rabies case confirmed in Glen Allen

GLEN ALLEN, VA (WWBT) - A skunk has tested positive for rabies after it attacked several dogs in Glen Allen.

It happened on Wednesday in the 11000 block of Greenwood Road. A skunk entered the back yard of a home and attacked the dogs in a pen.

Henrico Police Animal Protection retrieved the remains and sent them to the State Lab. The remains tested positive for rabies.

The dogs exposed to the skunk have been quarantined. There are no other reports of exposure to the skunk.
