RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The head of Richmond's Department of Public Works is back on the job following a 30-day suspension.

James Jackson was put on leave without pay earlier this year, but the City wouldn't say why citing personnel privacy. A Richmond spokesperson says Jackson was back at work Tuesday.

Jackson oversees the city's snow plowing, trash pickup and pothole repair, among other duties.

Jackson began working for the city on February 28, 2011 and has more than 17 years of experience in the public works field, including serving as director for the cities of Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan as well as Wayne County, Michigan.
