Virginia Tech student arrested in murder of fellow student

BLACKSBURG, VA (WWBT) -

Police in Blacksburg are investigating the murder of a Virginia Tech Student. According to our Roanoke affiliate, police arrested a Virginia Tech student and a recent graduate in connection to the death.

Arrest warrants filed by Blacksburg Police reveal Samanata Shrestha is the victim of a weekend homicide, according to WSLS.

Shrestha reportedly disappeared Saturday.

Police are not revealing the exact location of the crime scene where they found the Tech student's body, but a black Mercedes that police say is connected to the murder, was found in the Blacksburg area.

Virginia tech student, Jessica Ewing, 22, of Blacksburg is charged with murder .

Virginia Tech graduate, Keifer Brown, 23, of Blacksburg is charged with accessory after the fact.

They are currently being held without bond.

    Two people are being helped by the Red Cross, after a fire broke out at their Richmond home. Crews tell us the fire broke out in the 5500 block of Campbell Avenue around 10:55 this morning. When they got on scene, fire crews saw flames coming from the back of the home. They were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes. Officials say everyone got out safely, but the damage was so bad, that a man and woman living in the home have to find a new place to live.
