Chesterfield suspect shot in Thanksgiving standoff due in court

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

The Chesterfield man who was shot during a standoff with police is expected in court Tuesday morning.

Michael Killough, 47, is charged with seven felony counts of felonious assault on a police officer and one count of misdemeanor domestic assault.

Killough was witnessed walking around inside the home with what appeared to be a long gun, according to police. After 40 minutes, the suspect came out of the home and after reportedly engaging with officers, investigators said responding units were forced to fire and wound him.

Killough is due in court at 8:30 a.m.
