Chesterfield mourns beloved high school teacher

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

A community is mourning a beloved teacher in Chesterfield.  Carrie Roarty passed away January 25, after a battle with cancer. Roarty taught physical education, and coached field hockey at James River High School.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, on Tuesday, January 28, at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd.

Funeral Mass will be held at 12pm, on Wednesday, January 29, at Cathedral Of The Sacred Heart, 800 S Cathedral Pl Richmond, VA 23220. Burial Private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure 5005 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Suite 250 Dallas, TX 75244.
