RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Rescue crews responded to the scene of a possible water rescue at Forest Hill Park in Richmond Sunday night.

The initial call came in shortly before 9:00 p.m. for an incident on the water near the 4000 block of Forest Hill Avenue. A Richmond fire spokesperson told NBC12 crews were responding to a report of someone falling through the ice.

A person had been on the phone with a friend, but when the call disconnected, they feared the worst and called 911. According to firefighters, the person believed to have been in distress never was -- and was later located, unharmed.
