HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Not only do restaurants have to make sure they don't have critical violations when they're inspected, they have to make sure the kitchen is clean. A health inspector found that was a problem for a Mediterranean restaurant in Henrico.
The restaurant was Sweet Olive Mediterranean Grill at 9127 West Broad Street. Among its 4 critical violations, the inspector wrote that blood was pooling on the lid of pre-cooked gyro meat in the walk-in cooler. That and other problems were corrected during the inspection. But the report also states it appears workers left the kitchen in poor condition and cleaning was very much needed.
The problem was food temperatures at T-Miller's Sports Bar and Grill inside the Richmond Marriott at 500 East Broad Street. The 5 critical violations included that tomatoes, cheese and cole slaw in a cooler, and spinach dip and chicken were not being kept cold enough. It also said the slicer and mixing bowl were soiled to sight and touch. The report shows violations were corrected on the spot.
