Snowy start to the day leads to traffic accidents in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Chances are your drive home Thursday night was much different than your morning commute was.

Some drivers were caught off guard, and a few accidents - including ones near James River High school in Chesterfield - kept police busy. A heavy coating of snow caused major problems for drivers.

"The car in front of me stopped, and I hit my brakes but I kept going. I think I slid a little bit, and I hit their car, and I remember getting hit from behind, and the car behind me has a much worse total than mine," said Lindsey Fink.

Lindsey was just one of several people involved in multiple crashes on Robious Road near James River High School in Chesterfield.

"I'm a little shaken up, but I am alive so that's good."

An 18-wheeler was also involved in an accident in front of Hancock Village in Chesterfield. The good news here is that everyone is ok.

"My parents are not so comfortable letting me drive in the snow so it's probably going to be a lot harder for them to let me drive," said Lindsey.
