Chesterfield Police identify couple killed in apparent murder-suicide

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield police say a man and woman found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Chester were a husband and wife.

Nequia S. Davidson, 39, and her husband, Terrell D. Davidson, 38, were found shot in a vehicle off the 12300 block of Mason Avenue around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, according to Chesterfield Police. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Chesterfield Police say Terrell tried to run his wife off the road, shot her, and then got in the car and shot himself.

The initial 911 calls came in around 9:15 p.m. for a person shot. Police confirm Terrell called 911 to say he shot his wife, and that he planned to kill himself.

Investigators say the couple has had ongoing domestic relation problems. Court documents obtained by NBC12 show they date back several months. And police say an emergency protective order was currently in place- that Terrell had violated it and police were looking for him to arrest him when he killed Nequia.

"Officers had obtained warrants for him and were actively searching for him, but were not aware of his exact location," said Cpt. Chris Hensley with Chesterfield Police.

Neighbors said multiple shots could be heard at the time of the incident. Responding officers told neighbors to stay in their homes. Chesterfield Fire & EMS units responded to the scene to assist police.
