Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - You may not have heard of this illness but it still affects many people and may be affecting you. We discuss Eustachian Tube Dysfunction.

In Henrico- Dr. Edwin Robinson is treating it.

The Eustachian tubes are small passageways that connect the upper part of your throat to your middle ears.

The most common cause of Eustachian tube dysfunction is excessive mucus and inflammation of the tube caused by a cold, the flu, a sinus infection or allergies.

Children are more at risk since they have a shorter and straighter Eustachian tube. Smoking and being overweight are risk factors.
