RSV - Respiratory Syncytial Virus

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - For most it may be nothing more than a nasty cold. But for small kids it could be life threatening.

We have the details on RSV in this week's Neighborhood Health Watch.

Dr. Azhar Talibiaz is warning of the dangers of RSV in Brandermill.

Anyone can get RSV but it is most severe in children under age two.

Symptoms include fevers, runny nose, breathing problems; decrease in activity and eating/drinking.

Unfortunately, it is a virus and antibiotics will not help. Get rest, fluids and take Tylenol/Advil if needed for fever. Consult your physician for wheezing or difficulty breathing.
