Winter weather shuts down several flights for RIC

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The recent cold snap is snarling air traffic - with de-icing delays growing, and passengers at Richmond International feeling frustration.

RIC is reporting 48 flights to and from Richmond canceled for Monday, including to O'Hare, Laguardia, Boston and Cleveland. We saw delays up to four hours earlier - now flights are either being canceled, or are running up to two and a half hours behind schedule.

Arrivals are red up and down the board, with just four flights on time. Jet Blue canceled all flights out of Boston and New York to rest crews, leaving Richmond passengers at Logan looking for ways to get home.

Amtrak also said that there will be fewer trains than normal between D.C. and Boston, so if you're traveling north by train tomorrow, you could be packed onto another train.
