OTC Cold Medicines

APPOMATTOX, VA (WWBT) -

In this week's Neighborhood Healthwatch we discuss the importance of not combining cold medications.

In Appomattox, Dr. John Clay is helping patients pick over the counter cold medicines.

Cold and allergy products can be helpful but like any medication there are some risks.

Combining multiple products can result in double-dosing of certain medications that could reach toxic levels.

If two products contain the same ingredient, in most cases they should not be taken simultaneously unless you've discussed with your doctor.
