Boutique store raided by shoplifter

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Channel 4 report is helping local business owners nab shoplifters.

Employees of Blush Boutiques said they have a serious shoplifting problem on their hands.

They said in the past year thefts have increased dramatically.

To fight the trend, they have posted pictures of convicted shoplifters in their storerooms and near their cash register.

It didn't help Blush's location in The Gulch where employees said over $1,000 worth of merchandise was taken Friday night.

"I got a call from my assistant manager saying that our front table had been raided," said Blush regional manager Whitney Wolfe. "At that point, we pulled up the video feed and were able to see it and right away I knew exactly who it was. It was easy to identify here since we've familiarized ourselves with her profile."

Wolfe identified the alleged thief from several stories Channel 4 has done on serial shoplifters.

While they believe they know who's responsible for the crime, it is unknown if Metro Police have arrested the suspect.
