CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
I-95 is back open after a two-vehicle crash in Chesterfield.
The crash happened on I-95 North near mile marker 60 after the Ruffin Mill Rd exit around 8:18 a.m. Tuesday. Police say a minivan stopped on the side of the road was struck by a passing car. The minivan then hit one of the passengers who was outside of the vehicle at the time.
That passenger, a 70-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. Two other people in the minivan were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the minivan, Kristi Cook, 39, is charged with improper stopping on the interstate.
The driver of the car, Kyung Kim, 63, was not injured. Kim is charged with reckless driving.
