ASHLAND, VA (WWBT) -

A woman who claimed she was robbed and kidnapped at an Ashland business was actually working with the thieves, according to police.

Amanda Lynn Russnack was working at a business in the 800 block of England Street Sunday around 1 p.m. when she told officers a man with a gun got in the back seat of her car. Russnack claimed the man forced her at gunpoint to drive four miles to a location on Cross Corner Road, where he took the store's money from her.

Police now say Russnack made up the story and have charged her with conspiracy to commit grand larceny. She's now at Pamunkey Regional Jail, along with Victor Thomas White who faces a charge of conspiracy to commit grand larceny and grand larceny.

Another employee, Amber Nicole White, was also charged with conspiracy to commit grand larceny and incarcerated at Pamunkey Regional Jail.

Ashland Police are still investigating the case and ask anyone with additional information to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
