Thieves rob Chesterfield Subway, put worker in cooler

Posted: Updated:

Chesterfield police are looking for two suspects who robbed a Subway restaurant at gunpoint.

The crime happened Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the 4000 block of Meadowdale Boulevard off Hopkins Road.

The Subway employee says, 30 minutes after the doors opened, two men walked in and ordered two egg and cheese subs. The worker says as he was putting cheese on the six-inch sandwiches, one of the suspects put a gun in his face and told him not to move.

The worker says one suspect then jumped over the counter and forced him into the back room demanding money, but there wasn't any back there.

Meanwhile, the second suspect was busy clearing out the cash register, grabbing more than $200.

The employee was then forced into the restaurant's cooler where he waited until the robbers left before calling police.

Meanwhile, Chesterfield police are asking if you know anything to either call the department or Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
