TROY, Mich., Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PALS INTERNATIONAL, a leading provider of language and cross-cultural services and training, has launched a new service improving natural language processing in automotive infotainment systems for international markets.
The program focuses on testing automotive application and software user interfaces to ensure they are appropriate for local markets around the world. These services are unique because PALS recruits global talent. They are tech savvy and were born, raised and educated in the local region for which they are offering services, so they understand language and usability nuances that are culturally appropriate.
People who have poor experiences with voice recognition interfaces are unlikely to continue to use them. PALS helps automakers enhance their global brand by partnering with them to ensure that interfaces, manuals, help files and menus work well for target markets.
By bringing global talent to its offices, PALS fosters a person-to-person relationship with its talent and the engineers and automotive industry representatives they serve. Often, this global talent is found in the Detroit Metro area, Michigan, but growing demand for language diversity has required PALS to recruit talent from around the world. Current automotive clients are requesting services to optimize their systems for as many as 34 countries.
When asked about the global talent, Brenda Arbelaez, the President and Founder of PALS INTERNATIONAL, said, "They are so proud to represent their country, their language and their culture. They go above and beyond."
Arbelaez, originally from Colombia, started PALS as a home-based business, instructing executives assigned to Spanish-speaking countries. Her instructional methods proved uniquely effective and her business grew to encompass a network of 2,000 professionals, with linguists who specialize in more than 200 languages. PALS celebrated 30 years in business in 2013, and is moving into the future with innovative new programs.
Since 1983, PALS INTERNATIONAL has provided language instruction, cross-cultural training programs, business consulting, translation and interpretation. For more information, visit www.palsintl.com.
