In this week's Neighborhood Healthwatch we explain why it is so important to stay on top of ear drum perforations.
In Henrico, Denise Jackson is treating the painful problem of an ear drum perforation.
Symptoms include ear pain, bleeding from ear, decreased hearing.
Use caution when diving or flying with a cold or sinus infection. Avoid using q-tips which are a common source of ear drum trauma.
Frequently, ear drum perforations will heal on their own, but occasionally a surgical procedure is warranted to ensure repair.
