NEW KENT, VA (WWBT) - Parents and students are concerned after reports that a student was medflighted from New Kent High School to VCU Medical Center.
A sophomore at the school was found unresponsive on a bus and, out of an abundance of caution, medflighted to the hospital.
Sheriffs deputies from New Kent County blocked the entrance to the school, only allowing parents to pick up kids from sports practices.
The superintendent released a statement thanking those that helped the student and saying, "as a result of direct communication with the family and out of deep respect for the family's wish for privacy and consistent with their request, I will have no further comments or details at this time."

Parents and students are taking to social media, with a multitude of messages saying they are praying for this sophomore.
Just a few months ago in October, a linebacker, Jacob Vick, was found unconscious during a practice and later died.
