RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Virginia State Police have arrested a Richmond Police detective and lawyer with the Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney's Office after they say he was driving under the influence.
It happened shortly after midnight on December 1 in Henrico County. A state trooper pulled over a 2013 Volkswagen vehicle on I-64 at exit 177 for speeding.
"Upon stopping the vehicle, the state trooper observed an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. After performing field sobriety tests, Larry was arrested without incident," said a Virginia State Police spokesman.
The driver, Richmond Detective Jack Larry, 32, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a breath test. His passenger, Brooke Pettit, 27, was also arrested. She is charged with being drunk in public.
Richmond Police confirm Larry is a detective and is on administrative leave. Pettit is an attorney for the Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.
NBC12 went to Larry's Richmond apartment but no one came to the door.
