RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A crowd gathered in downtown Richmond Tuesday night to take a stand against child sexual assault.
The group offered prayers and hugs of support to show victims they are not alone and that they do have a voice.
The event was organized by a survivor, who told of being molested as a child by her neighbor whose threats forced her to stay silent until she was a teenager.
"I decided not to become a victim, I decided to become a survivor. I decided to start speaking out against child sexual assault, to start doing the walk. This is something I will do all the time, this is not just for tonight, it's gonna be held all the time,"
Child Savers and the Richmond Police were among the sponsors of the event.
