CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

The Matoaca teacher accused of having an inappropriate with a student is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.  Nicholas Ells, 29, is facing seven charges, including three counts of indecent liberties with a minor and four counts of carnal knowledge of a child.

Ells made his first court appearance at Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations court earlier this year.

Chesterfield Police say they don't know if the incidents happened on campus but say the alleged relationship has been going on for four months. Police say it was sexual. They will only say the girl is between 13 and 15 years old and a staff member at the school told police.

Neighbors say Ells is married and has a daughter.

Chesterfield Schools would not say how long Ells has been a teacher at Matoaca or if he worked anywhere else in the county. CCPS spokesperson Shawn Smith did release this statement, "There are seven felony charges, and pursuant to state law and CCPS policy, he has been suspended without pay."

Police tell NBC12 they believe there is only one victim in his case.

Ells is expected in court at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
