Henrico Police investigate stabbing on Three Chopt Road

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Henrico Police are investigating a stabbing at the Three Chopt West Apartments off Three Chopt Road.

The call came in around 5:30 p.m. Monday from the 8800 block of Three Chopt Road. Police originally said a man was found shot, but later said he had been stabbed. The victim was taken to VCU Medical Center. No suspect description is being released.

NBC12 spoke to the victim's family who identified the victim as a 28-year-old male. His condition is unknown at this time.

K-9 units from both Henrico and Richmond responded to the crime scene. The area was closed off to most residents while investigators dusted for fingerprints and collected evidence.

"When you have a scene that's large like this, with all the townhomes and residences, we don't want to miss any evidence," said Lt. Bob Palkovics with Henrico Police.

This is the third violent crime in Henrico's West End since Friday. That night in the 7000-block of Hunt Club Lane, officers found a victim had been shot dead.

Then Sunday night in the 8800-block of Midway Road, 21-year-old Michael Luedecke is accused of murdering his own father.
