Panthers release 2014 schedule

Posted: Updated:
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Panthers released their 2014 season schedule Thursday.

It is the first season under the new two conference format.

The Panthers will play in the American Conference, alongside defending champ Alabama, Columbus, and the newly formed Nashville Venom.

The National Conference is made up of expansion teams Harrisburg and Trenton, as well as Richmond and Lehigh Valley.

Albany's season will likely be determined by how the Panthers play on a three game road stretch in the middle of the season.

In weeks six through eight, the Panthers travel to Nashville, Harrisburg, and Alabama.

"The proof is in the pudding. We're a lot better team at home over the past four years, than we are on the road. Why that is, I don't know," says Panthers GM Will Carter. "But it's always tough to win football games on the road. And it's going to be a tough stretch."

In honor of the Panthers' fifth year in Albany, the team is offering five upper bowl season tickets for just $50.
