Henrico School Board to act on Superintendent's contract

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The Henrico School Board is set to take action on Superintendent Patrick Russo's contract Thursday night.

The Board just added an agenda item calling for action on the Superintendent's contract to be presented for the Board's consideration and approval. Right now, there is no indication of what the action will be, but school spokesperson Andy Jenks says the item was added to the agenda following a development this morning.

Dr. Russo was put on paid leave over 'concerns' in August, but school leaders never elaborated on the issue.  Former Three Chopt school board member Diana Winston suddenly quit shortly after.

The school board meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the New Bridge School Auditorium on Nine Mile Road.

This is a developing story.  Ashley Monfort will bring you an update on 12News at 5 p.m.
