Police: All buildings clear at Collegiate School

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Police have cleared the buildings and the lockdown has been lifted at Collegiate School after a false alarm prompts a search for a gunman on the campus.

Police say an alarm from the school was accidentally activated by a technician around 5:30 p.m. that corresponded with the alert for a gunman on campus. According to the Collegiate School website, the technician is an outside technology contract worker, not a student or employee.

Students and parents are now free to leave the campus. More information can be found on the Collegiate School website: http://www.collegiate-va.org/

Jessica Jaglois is interviewing the head of Collegiate School and Yvette Yeon is on the scene talking to parents. We will continue to gather information and bring you the latest tonight at 11.
