HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Henrico Police say an alarm was accidentally set off, placing Collegiate School on lockdown in the west end.

This is at 103 North Mooreland Road. Police say an alarm from the school was accidentally activated by a technician around 5:30 p.m. that corresponded with the alert for a gunman on campus.

While police investigate the alarm, people inside are asked to stay where they are and anyone outside should leave the premises. Police are slowly letting students and parents at the school out.

According to the Collegiate School website, police have discovered no threat on the campus but they will remain on lockdown until all buildings are inspected.

Yvette Yeon and Jessica Jaglois are at the scene and will bring you more information as details come in.
