HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - A local restaurant makes the critical list for having what the health inspector called an "active roach infestation." But when we went to see what was going on, we found the restaurant closed down.
It used to be Royal India Express, 2755 Hungary Spring Road in Henrico. Its last health inspection report says it had an active roach infestation. When we stopped by, the restaurant was closed and a sign said it was under new management. We called the new owner who told us he just bought the place and is completely remodeling it. He says he hopes to open a totally new restaurant with a new name in December.
Moving to Chesterfield, Jiang's Restaurant at 1213 Carmia Way had 7 critical violations. Among them, the report says rice, battered chicken, and egg rolls were not being kept cold enough. But by the re-inspection a week later, the report said, "All violations ... have been successfully resolved and corrected. Excellent recovery!"
