ALBEMARLE, VA (WWBT) -

Albemarle police have arrested a 24-year-old Tennessee man in connection with the disappearance of a 16-year-old last week.

Johnathan Lee Messer from Kingsport, TN was arrested by Virginia Beach Police on one felony count of production or distribution of child pornography, one felony count of use of electronic means for child pornography and two felony counts of possession of child pornography.

He is currently in the Virginia Beach City Jail.

The 16-year-old's parents claimed she was abducted Friday from their Albemarle home.

The high school junior had just returned from a football game with her dad and went outside to take pictures of the moon. Her parents later found her cell phone in the front yard, but their daughter was nowhere to be found. A neighbor found her walking on a local road the next morning.

Police say the act was not random and the public is not in any danger. They would not elaborate on how the charges related to her disappearance.
