Police: Prince George pursuit suspect considered 'dangerous'

PRINCE GEORGE, VA (WWBT) -

Virginia State Police are working with Prince George County and Petersburg Police in a search for a suspect police are considering "dangerous."

The pursuit began just before 2 p.m. Monday on Route 460 when a VSP trooper tried to pull over the driver of a Mazda CX9 for speeding. The driver lead police on a chase with speeds reaching over 100 mph.

The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle near the intersection of 460 and Hickory Hill Road. The vehicle continued down an embankment and struck a tree while the suspect ran off.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 5'10" tall, weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
