Chesterfield County voters will be asked to consider approving bonds to provide for the renovations or replacements of 10 of the county's oldest schools, the addition of a new elementary school to ease overcrowded classrooms, and the replacement of the county's near-obsolete emergency communications system used by police, fire and emergency medical services and sheriff's deputies. Voters also will consider whether the county should establish a meals tax that would be no higher than 2 percent, and be restricted to helping pay for the bond projects.
