CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
Exercise is really important. But doing it the wrong way could get you in big trouble.
We explain why in this week's Neighborhood Health Watch.
Dr. Marc Caligtan wants to make sure you are drinking enough liquids when you work out.
Everyone's hydration needs are different and individual needs fluctuate depending on how well they are currently hydrated.
Drink 20-24 fluid ounces of water or sports beverage for every one pound lost. You should not consume more than one liter per hour of fluid.
The goal is to correct your losses within two hours after exercise.
