Should I take aspirin?

APPOMATTOX, VA (WWBT) -
It is called the "wonder drug" but is it for everyone- in this week's Neighborhood Health Watch we answer the question "should I be taking aspirin"?

Dr. John Clay is answering the question.

There is no widespread agreement on when or if healthy individuals should start taking aspirin.

Determination on whether it is beneficial to take aspirin to prevent cardiovascular disease is based on the benefits of taking the drug versus the risk of complications from it.

Since this is an individualized decision you should discuss this with your doctor.

They will tell you whether it is a good idea to start an aspirin therapy.
