What a week! On the same day that millions of Americans logged on to the Affordable Care Act's website, Healthcare.gov, the U.S. Congress, led by the Republican House members, shutdown the government.
Ah, democracy at its finest! Most Americans are appalled at the way the Congress is handling the people's business and based on recent polls, most agree that the budget should not be held ransom in exchange for passage of the Continuing Resolution.
Yes, it is true that recent polls show that the majority of Americans do not feel that the Affordable Care Act is the best healthcare solution for this country, but millions of Americans who are uninsured or underinsured have been waiting years for a life jacket and the Affordable Health Care Act appears to be it.
Although everything that is happening in Washington is within the law and being conducted within the rules of Congress, it is wrong. There is not a single elected official who would condone any American business or family handling their business the way in which Congress is handling theirs.
The only thing that I can say to those on Capitol Hill, who don't care about the people being affected by this shutdown, is SHAME ON YOU! #SMH (Shaking My Head).
