12 INVESTIGATES: What Virginia's congressmen are doing with their paychecks

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

While hundreds of thousands are out of work because of the shutdown, congress is still getting a paycheck. It's a sore subject for many of you - who've shared your frustrations over Facebook and Twitter this week.

But not everyone at the capitol is keeping their paychecks as the shutdown continues. The Washington Post started a running list of what every senator and representative says they are doing with their money.

An aide for Senator Mark Warner says he will donate his salary to the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund.

Representative Scott Rigell says he plans to donate his salary to the Wounded Warrior Project.

An aide for Senator Tim Kaine says he will have his salary withheld until the federal government re-opens. Representative Randy Forbes is doing the same.

Virginia Representative Rob Wittman said over twitter he is donating his salary to charity.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is not going to be accepting his paycheck during the shutdown.
