RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Roaches were among the problems in a Chinese restaurant on tonight's critical list. But the report shows the problem has been resolved.
It happened at Chen's Chinese at 13104 Kingston Avenue in Chesterfield. The restaurant had 5 critical violations on its health inspection, including, the reports says, that one live and several dead roaches were observed throughout the facility. But the problem was gone when the inspector went back two weeks later. The report shows Chen's still had two other critical violations, which were fixed on the spot. We contacted Chen's, but haven't heard back.
A series of handwashing problems were discovered at Napoli, 15800 Jefferson Davis Highway in Chesterfield, according to the inspection report. It says the handwashing sink was blocked, and an employee was using the mop sink instead. The report also shows hands were not washed between handling raw foods and putting on gloves. That's a no-no because bacteria can be spread. But all those problems were corrected by the follow-up inspection, except for one critical, which was immediately fixed.
And at DaVinci, 5156 Nine Mile Road in Richmond, one of its 5 critical violations during a health inspection was that the slicer was not clean. When the inspector returned two weeks later, the report shows the slicer was clean and everything else was corrected.
