Chesterfield neighbors raise coyote concerns

CHESTERFIELD, VA (AP) -

Coyotes are wandering close to homes in Chesterfield, according to residents in several neighborhoods.

Several viewers contacted NBC 12 and said they've seen the animals roaming near the Happy Hill Road area, as well as the Woodland Pond subdivision.

"There is no doubt that there are coyotes in Chesterfield County," according to animal control officers.

They encourage people to keep their distance, and officers will respond if a person's safety is at risk.
