Thieves break into Chesterfield Land Rover dealership, steal 3 vehicles

Thieves broke into the Land Rover of Richmond dealership in Midlothian stealing three cars and several other items.

Police believe the men broke into the dealership near Midlothian Turnpike and Courthouse Road late Wednesday or early Thursday.

The suspects broke a window, entered the business and took three vehicles, along with cash and license plates.

"This is our livelihood here, and sure we are upset," said manager Matt Bigelow. "We feel violated."

The stolen vehicles were valued at more than $200,000 total.

The vehicles were described as a light silver/blue 2013 Land Rover Range Rover, a dark blue 2013 Land Rover Range Rover, and a red 2012 Land Rover. The stolen Virginia license plates include WNT-1018, WNT-1019, WNT-1020, WNT-1021, and WNT-1022.

"It's not unprecedented, but it is unusual," said Sgt. George Burgess with Chesterfield Police. "We've coordinated with the federal agencies, state agencies, and area agencies. We have a look out for the vehicles."
