Albany St. volleyball sweeps Brewton-Parker in home opener

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

After a 4-1 performance at the annual SIAC Crossover Tournament, the Albany State Lady Rams returned to Albany for the team's home opener.

They didn't disappoint the large crowd at the HPER Gymnasium, quickly sweeping Brewton-Parker in three sets, 26-23, 25-23, and 25-16.

It was an effort that had the crowd dancing afterwards, but head coach Robert Skinner wasn't exactly in a dancing mood after the game.

"We weren't as attentive or as alert as we should have been, but I'm pleased with the victory," Skinner says. "We played hard enough to win. We just made a lot of mistakes today though."

The Lady Rams host defending SIAC champ Clark Atlanta Thursday in a big game. That game starts at 6 p.m.
