Reports: New person of interest in Alexis Murphy case

Nelson County investigators say they've located and spoken to an individual now being described as a person of interest in the disappearance of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy.

NBC affiliate WSLS reported the new development Sunday afternoon. According to the report, investigators were following up on claims made by Randy Taylor's lawyer, Michael Hallahan, that his client may not have been the last to see the teen before she vanished in early August.

The person of interest hasn't been identified at this point.

Taylor is currently charged with felony abduction. A grand jury will decide on Tuesday whether Taylor's case will head to circuit court. He's currently in jail being held without bond.

Alexis Murphy hasn't been seen since Saturday, August 3.
