RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A Richmond company won a national competition looking for the next big thing and now will be featured on a home shopping network.

The RainRap is the brain-child of Rachel Teyssie and Stacy Struminger, two best friends who started selling RainRaps just over a year ago. They're now in stores nationwide.

They entered the TODAY show's TODAY's Bright Idea contest and after making the top six won first place with 38 percent of the popular vote Friday. The contest, created in partnership with QVC Sprouts, will land them on the QVC network where they can reach a national audience.

Isaac Mizrahi and Savannah Guthrie said it was their favorite product of the finalists, with Guthrie saying it was "incredibly fashionable."

This isn't the first big win for the Central Virginia business. Earlier this year they entered, and won, the national Spanx Leg Up contest.
