Richmond celebrates 6th Annual Shockoe On-the-Half-Shell Festival

The smell of oysters filled the air in Shockoe Bottom in a good way today, and whether you like them raw, steamed fried, or on a half-shell, it was all there.

This was the 6th Annual Shockoe On-the-Half-Shell Festival at the 17th Street Farmers' Market.

Chef's from some the Richmond's popular restaurants - like Arcadia, Halligan's and the new The Pig & Pearl were fixing up some delicious dishes with oysters.

Of course there were other dishes for people enjoy.

Local musicians performed as well making this such a great way to spend the afternoon.

NBC12 talked to some people today who were there.

"I think this is wonderful, we've seen so many different sights, people doing their own music, people doing their own crafts, it's just great. It's a gorgeous day having a great time," said Judi Lehuquet.

The event was free and again, a big hit today.
