HAMPTON ROADS, VA (WWBT) - Traffic is slowly moving at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel after inspections brought it to a standstill Wednesday.
Virginia State Police and the FBI were inspecting trucks after a threatening phone call came in around 7:50 a.m. concerning the Hampton Roads region. The call included a time frame for the attack, which has since expired with no reported incidents.
State Police continued the inspections throughout the day due to it being the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
The Department of Homeland Security and FBI were now on the scene with K-9 units, reports WAVY News. According to WAVY, inspections were finished around 3:30 p.m.
