RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Hundreds of motorcyclists from Central Virginia are heading to D.C. on I-95 to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The group of 500 will be a part of what's expected to be two million bikers in D.C. to honor the victims who lost their lives 12 years ago.

I-95 closed temporarily at the Garrisonville exit in north Stafford Wednesday morning to allow the bikers to leave the area in a timely manner. The group of motorcyclists then got on the HOV lanes, escorted by the Virginia State Police.
