There are so many things pregnant women need to be aware of and in this week's Neighborhood Health Watch we will add another one to the list.
Dr. John Hulshoff is preparing his pregnant patients to avoid the flu.
He tells us that non-pregnant women do not face as serious risk as pregnant women do. Pregnant women are at greater risk for severe disease, hospitalization and even death.
Typical symptoms of the flu include fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, headaches, body aches and shortness of breath.
The key, however, to preventing the flu is to get vaccinated early.
